How we work

Three ways to engage us.

Every engagement begins with a scoping conversation and ends with something your board, council or funder can act on without us in the room. Scope varies too widely between a feasibility question and a multi year program for a published rate to be useful to either of us, so engagements are quoted after the first conversation.

Engagement models

Pick the shape that fits the problem

Model 01

Initial consultation

A scoping session with one of the principals, followed by a written summary of what we would recommend and what it would take. You keep the summary whether or not you go further with us.

Best when you have a decision to make and need an informed second opinion before committing budget.

Model 02

Project advisory

A defined piece of work with a written scope, an agreed timeline, named decision points and a principal accountable by name from start to handover.

Best when you have a project to move from concept into something fundable and operable.

Model 03

Ongoing retainer

A standing block of monthly capacity for organizations running continuous programs, with a fixed monthly commitment and a defined scope of what that capacity covers.

Best when sustainability work is a permanent function rather than a one time project.

What is always included

The same terms on every engagement

A named principal

One of the two of us is accountable for your work by name. You always know who to call, and you get the same person at the end that you met at the start.

A written scope before any invoice

Deliverables, timeline and decision points agreed in writing first. Change requests are quoted before they are built, not after.

Findings you can use without us

Every deliverable is written so your board, council or funder can act on it whether or not we stay involved. No dependency by design.

Introductions that are real

When we connect you to an operator, a partner or a funder, it is someone we have worked with and will vouch for, not a name from a list.

Digital services are different

Our website, hosting, email and social media packages for nonprofits and service clubs are fixed price and published openly, because that scope really is predictable. See those prices.

Next step

Tell us what you are trying to solve

The first conversation is a scoping call, not a sales call. If we are not the right people for the problem, we will say so and point you toward someone who is.
